Get your video in the Cannes with Kodak competition

Most amateur videographers fancy themselves as a bit of an auteur and Kodak is asking those folks to step up to the plate for a short film competition to be judged by movie royalty, director Spike Lee.

Every three minute camcorder creation of a would-be Kodak ad is in with a shout of winning the top prize and will be broadcast at the Cannes 2009 Advertising Film Festival and on the giant Kodak video screen in New York’s Times Square.

A whopping grand prize of $12,000 is up for grabs, but an apprenticeship from Spike Lee on the set of his latest project is about as priceless as it comes.

Generous as they are, the MOFILM competition big wigs are also offering upto $100,000 of prizes, with 40 Kodak Zi6 Pocket HD Camcorders to kick the competition off too.

Head over to their Twitter feed to find out how to grab one, and in the meantime check out our Top Ten pocket camcorders.

Aspiring Spikes and Spielbergs, notice has been served, the big leagues await.
