Rockstar Games has moved swiftly to deny that the Grand Theft Auto juggernaut is heading to the iPhone after a  teaser website appeared online showing game footage on Apple’s smartphone kingpin.

The nifty-looking one-page site claims "You have no idea what’s coming on iPhone" before showing GTA footage presumably plastered onto the iPhone’s screen.

Initial prangs of excitement were almost instantly shelved after noticing the site’s url, www.coming-on-iphone.com. We soon realised there was no way the cool cats at Apple or Rockstar would have anything to do with that.

The site was spotted by the eagle-eyed sleuths at Tech Radar, who’s subsequent call to Rockstar’s people was met with a firm denial. So, a match made in heaven it may be, but as yet there’s no sign of Apple and Rockstar being joined in holy matrimony just yet. Regardless, it’s catapulted a GTA adaption to the top of our iPhone wishlist.
