Video review: iPhone 3GS Voice Control
So thin on the ground were features on the new Apple iPhone 3GS that one of the headline newbies – alongside the digital compass and video recorder – was the Voice Control functionality.
It allows you to make calls, choose songs, playlists and artists, and also skip and shuffle tracks. Not the blockbusting feature we’d necessarily hoped for in the new handset, but a handy addition all the same.

To activate Voice Control the user simply has to hold in the Home button and utter their request into the microphone. Sounds straightforward enough, but does it work?
We took the handset onto the streets and sampled a range of accents, from Aussie to American to good old fashioned Cockney. So check out our video report to see just how effective a tool Voice Control really is.
