Apple TV 3.0.1 update prevents data from ‘temporarily disappearing’

Enjoy your Apple TV? Not so fond of your data picking up and vanishing whenever it darn well pleases? Then you'll probably want to force your Apple TV to update to 3.0.1... assuming you've already upgraded it to 3.0, of course. According to the engineers in Cupertino, this update prevents content "from temporarily disappearing until re-synced," and we're guessing that most of you would rather keep your content around if possible. Tap the read link for all the instructions, and whatever you do, don't make any sudden movements. [Via TUAW]Filed under: Home...Read More »

Canon EOS 7D gets high marks all around

Canon's EOS 7D is a pretty grandiose piece of image-recording equipment, whether you're talking about its size, features or price. You're probably aware of the 18 megapixel APS-C sensor and dual DIGIC 4 processors already, but we've all had to be a bit more patient than usual in waiting for the pro reviews to come out. Dpreview doesn't disappoint though, with a thoughtful 31-page tome awaiting the keen reader, and we've also got more digestible video reviews from DPhoto Journal for the less patient among you. If you're after direct comparisons against competing models, such as the...Read More »

Best Buy stocking Nokia’s Booklet 3G on November 15th

We knew good and well that Nokia's Booklet 3G was coming to Best Buy sometime "during the holidays," and now we've got something a bit more precise to share. Starting now, Reward Zone members can waltz into their local store and place a pre-order, while public availability is pegged for November 15th (though we already know that a select few have 'em in stock). As we'd heard, the 2.76-pound, Atom-powered netbook will be sold for $299.99 with a 2-year AT&T data contract or $599.99 straight-up. Oh, and if you're looking to get your order in...Read More »

Inspiron Zino HD now configurable, available to order on Dell’s website

Dell may be focusing the bulk of its attention on the white-hot Adamo XPS, but it looks as if its attempting to slide the Zino HD into the wild without anyone noticing. If you'll recall, we snagged a little hands-on time with the box back in August, and now we've reason to believe that an official reveal is just moments away. The Zino HD is now listed on Dell's main "Desktops" portal (a screen cap is after the break), though the accompanying link leads to nowhere. However, one vigilant tipster managed to find a backdoor URL that...Read More »

New Dell Adamo XPS thinner than Apple MacBook Air

The new, high-end Dell Adamo XPS laptop entered the record books this week by officially becoming the world's thinnest laptop, out-slimming even the Apple MacBook Air.   The swanky Adamo is an incredible 9.9mm thick, compared to 19.4mm body of the MacBook Air, which seems decidedly out of shape in this department, even though the Adamo remains slightly heavier.   - Video: Dell Adamo - hands on with the original - Group Test: Windows 7 laptops reviewed   But while winning the all-important size battle will provide a welcome PR boost ahead of the pre-Christmas launch, the Adamo XPS offers a...Read More »

Sixth Sense creator to release code, wearable gesture interface becomes a reality for all

If we're being honest (and trust us, we're being honest), Pranav Mistry's Sixth Sense contraption has always baffled us. It's kind of like Sony's Rolly. It looks cool, it sounds rad, but we're fairly certain only 2.49 people actually know and fully comprehend how it works. That said, we're more than jazzed about the possibility of having wearable gesture interfaces gracing every human we come into contact with, and rather than attempting to make his invention "comply with some kind of corporate policy," he's purportedly aiming to release the source code into the wild in order...Read More »

ASRock ION 330HT-BD nettop gets unboxed and cracked open on video

ASRock's family of nettops may not be anything special when it comes to design, but the ION 330HT-BD can definitely handle its fair share of multimedia. The Atom CPU could unquestionably use a bit lot more oomph, but the NVIDIA Ion GPU and the integrated Blu-ray drive make this little fellow quite the entertainer. Care to see what it looks like inside and out? Hop on past the break and mash play, then.Continue reading ASRock ION 330HT-BD nettop gets unboxed and cracked open on videoFiled under: DesktopsASRock ION 330HT-BD nettop...Read More »
