Sony Ericsson acknowledges touchscreen issues on Aino

As if the Aino's odd name wasn't handicap enough, Sony Ericsson's taking another hit on its high-end Remote Play-capable full-touch (but Symbian-free) phone today with news that it's got a dodgy touchscreen. It's unclear exactly what's wrong or how it's ultimately going to get resolved, but several British retailers -- most notably behemoth Carphone Warehouse -- have elected to yank it from shelves until they've gotten confirmation that the mothership has fixed the problem. Windows Mobile 6.5 ’second edition’ bringing slightly revamped UI?

We've already gotten a glimpse of an updated on-screen keyboard seemingly set for inclusion in the next update to Windows Mobile 6.5, and it now looks like Microsoft might have even more changes on tap to keep folks satisfied in the buildup to Windows Mobile 7. Modern Warfare 2 tops Amazon UK’s most wanted

Amazon has published its user-generated list of the most wished-for video games in the UK, USA, France and Germany. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 topped the list in the UK, demonstrating that miraculously there are still people in the UK that haven’t got a copy of the game. Meanwhile the Wii Fit Plus was the most wanted game in France and Germany, proving that perhaps us Brits aren’t as active as our European neighbours. Virgin Media to start monitoring music file-sharing

In an attempt to tackle illegal downloading, Virgin Media is set to trial ‘deep packet inspection’ technology that will measure the level of illegal file-sharing on its network. The system, called CView, is provided by a company called Detica - usually known for providing monitoring services to the intelligence agencies and law enforcement. CView works by examining traffic and identifying the peer-to-peer packets. Unlike your standard ISPs, the system can then look inside those packets and analyse what is licensed and unlicensed. iPhone Ikee hacker given job with startup app developer

Ashley Towns, the man behind the Rick Astley iPhone worm dubbed Ikee, has announced via Twitter that an Australian app developer has given him a job. - 20 Controversial iPhone apps The 21-year-old has been given a job by Mogeneration – a company that describes itself as Australia’s leading app developer. The hacker can now add app developer to his CV alongside Rick-rolling hacker. The internet security world wasn’t impressed by the Australian company’s actions.
