Nokia’s newest player in the world of touch screen smartphones can be seen as somewhat of a success with several functionalities that some of the other big names still lack.

The Nokia X6-00 ‘s main selling point is its music functionality- as a Nokia ‘Comes with music’ phone; it can be packaged with a subscription to the Nokia music store. My experience of the store has been pretty positive, with a broad library, and the ability to download songs directly to the handset via both 3G and Wi-Fi; any older music collections can seem somewhat obsolete. In addition to this, there are several storage sizes, I grabbed up a 32GB version; perfect for any music junkie.

However this phone isn’t all just about the music:

The 3.2-inch touch screen display proves to be extremely responsive and easy to use, and with a higher resolution than most phones of its kind, a lot of space can be saved on-screen giving the effect of an even larger display.

The 5 mega-pixel camera is great for those quickly –passing ‘Kodak’ moments, a strong flash, high photo quality and a very quick shutter speed is optimal for quick snaps.

The X6 has a built-in Ovi store application; this is Nokia’s rival to Apple’s app-store. Despite a smaller selection of applications to choose from, the Ovi store succeeds in integrating well within the handset’s interface.

The phone’s browser also surpasses the controversy that Apple’s iPhone has faced by its ability to view flash embedded in WebPages.

Ovi maps, combined with the phone’s GPS capabilities provides a worthy alternative to even purpose-built satellite navigation facilities; It offers turn by turn navigation, 3D mapping and voice navigation.

In addition the phone includes shortcuts and applications supporting popular social networking sites, such as Facebook, Youtube, Myspace, Friendster and Hi5.
